This week we welcomed our newest staff member, Hannah Pommersheim! Hannah comes to us from a Diocesan program called the Micah Project. The Micah Project is a year-long fellowship for emerging young leaders to explore questions of social change, spirituality, and vocation (learn more HERE). Hannah's work at St.C's will include youth & families, young adults, and she will also help us explore new partnership possibilities with the Chinese Ministry. About Hannah: I grew up in a small town in South Dakota. I left the Midwest to go to Davidson College in North Carolina and just graduated with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Religion. College was a very transformational time for me, especially in terms of my spiritual journey. I was raised Catholic, but at a Presbyterian college I really got the chance to explore within Christianity. Both the experiences of studying abroad in India and working with homeless neighbors and recovering addicts in Charlotte spurred me to look for a Christian service opportunity after college. I was drawn to the Micah Project as a place to continue learning and discerning about social justice and ministry with other young people asking similar questions about the meaning of call, church, and discipleship. I enjoy monasteries, bluegrass music, reading about different religious traditions, traveling to new places and swimming.
